Terms of Use

Effective date: 2026-10-04

These terms describe use of Sidecar Speaker and its support website. The app license for an App Store download is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. This page does not replace that license or rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.

1. What the app does

Sidecar Speaker sends Mac system audio to connected iPhone and iPad receivers on a local network. You can arrange multiple devices and assign portions of the source’s left and right stereo channels. This is stereo channel distribution, not a discrete surround-sound format. The current version uses the devices’ built-in speakers.

You need a compatible Mac running macOS 14.2 or later, an iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, and a usable local IP network between the devices. System permissions and device approval are required. Features may depend on the operating system, audio source, network, and hardware.

2. Your choices and responsibilities

Connect only devices you own or are authorized to use, and share only audio you have permission to capture and play. Obtain any consent needed from people whose conversations or personal information could be included in system audio. Respect copyright, privacy, applicable law, and the terms of the source service. The app does not grant rights to third-party content or bypass content protection.

Trusted networks only. The current local audio and connection transport is unencrypted. Approval and connection codes are not protection against interception or active attacks. Do not share confidential audio. Review the privacy policy before use.

3. Playback limitations

Playback adds a configurable delay. Synchronization, dropouts, and sound quality depend on the devices and network; exact acoustic alignment, uninterrupted playback, or long-term synchronization are not guaranteed. Third-party video may not stay in sync. Headphones, Bluetooth, or AirPlay output can stop playback. USB Sidecar and this app’s audio network connection are separate; connecting a USB cable alone does not establish a dedicated USB audio path.

Start at a comfortable volume and stop sharing when you finish. The app is not designed for emergency communications or other uses that require guaranteed delivery.

4. Availability and updates

The developer may provide updates that change compatibility or features. These terms do not promise any future feature, service availability, or support period. Any App Store purchase, refund, or distribution matter is subject to the applicable Apple terms. The current app contains no in-app subscriptions or purchases.

5. Rights and applicable protections

The app and website materials remain subject to their applicable intellectual-property rights. Third-party content belongs to its respective rights holders. Apple, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Sidecar are Apple trademarks; Sidecar Speaker is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.

Warranty, liability, and other license matters are governed by the applicable app license and law. Nothing on this page excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Privacy, changes, and contact

The privacy policy explains local audio, preferences, permissions, support correspondence, and website hosting. We may update these terms to reflect app changes; the effective date identifies the version. For questions, contact lendfuz524@gmail.com.
